Debate as we all know it is the War of Words!! Using your Sharp Speaking and timely thinking make your opponent Fall before you.
General rules :
1) Debate shall be conducted in English only.
2) A team will consist of 2 participants.
3) Every participant will be provided with the time of 2 min to express their views.
4) 1st bell will ring after 1.30 min and there will be a final ring after 2 min.
5) A jury will have right to ask any relevant questions related to the topic.
6) In case of tie, Jury and organizing committee will decide the result.7) Instruction regarding the round pattern will be given on the Event day.
Debate Pattern (Sequential Manner) :
1) Participant
from the affirmative side will start speaking initially followed by the opponent and so on.
2) Every
individual has to express themselves in time span of 2 min only.
3) Jury
may ask questions only after all 4 participants are done with speaking. (Preparation time of 1 min
will be given to answer this).
4) Question/s
to the affirmative side will be asked first and later to the negative.
5) Questions to the opponents
will be asked and have to be answered.
6) Audience
may raise their questions also.
7) Team
will conclude after answering to the audience.
8) Panel
of experts will come to their conclusion / suggestion.
